The Castle and the Carriage House
The first part of the tour is the Castle and the Carriage House. During the castle tour, visitors have the opportunity to explore different parts of the building - from the lower castle courtyard, the casemates, the servants chamber – an exhibition dedicated to the history of the Castle, courtyard of the upper castle, the lords' chambers and the chambers of the last owners. The tour not only provides historical knowledge, but also offers stunning panoramic views from the viewing terraces and the opportunity to interact with the historical exhibits, which are impressive in their diversity. Also, available as part of this ticket is the Carriage House, which is an integral part of the exhibition. Arranged in 2006 in a building located near the castle by the parking lot, it presents antique horse-drawn vehicles dating from 1900-1939. Among the exhibits are horse-drawn carriages from the Burak Brothers Factory from Kielce, vehicles from the former Eastern Borderlands and sleighs, which allow you to feel the atmosphere of years gone by.
A guided tour of the Castle takes about 50 minutes, and of the Carriage House takes about 10 minutes. Time of individual tours may vary depending on visitor interest. Also, take into account the time needed to get to the various exhibitions.
Granary
In addition, during high season in the summer months (from May 1st to the end of September), tourists can visit the historic wooden Granary, which is available with a separate ticket. The building, which once served as a storage facility for crops, now houses an ethnographic exhibition dedicated to Spiš culture. On the first floor of the granary, you can admire a variety of everyday objects that allow you to better understand the life of the region's inhabitants.
A visit to the historic granary usually lasts about 15 minutes, but as with other parts of the castle, the time can be extended or shortened, depending on the individual preferences of visitors.
